Sump pump has 1-1/2" discharge. Pipe that exits house = 2".
Existing 2" check valve needs R&R.
Local hardware store only had 1-1/2" check valve.
I bought it, but am having 2nd thoughts on installing.

You should be fine.

Curious where your pipe increase takes place. (I wouldn't want to have the flow go into a smaller pipe anywhere...)

1-1/2" sump discharge into a 1-1/2" to 2" coupler, into the 2" check valve, into the 2" pipe that exists house.
There's about a 9 foot head on the check valve.
Was worried the 1-1/2" would be a weak link, fail sooner vs. 2" valve.

Shouldn't be an issue, going to 1.5". Just as long as you don't reduce from 2" to 1.5" (or smaller) anywhere downstream of the pump.
