Between a Rock and a Hard Plac...
Desktop and Laptop on same home network. Sharing printer hooked up to desktop. Windows 10 on both.

Suddenly laptop can't find printer. Check out Homegroup and it turns out that the "desktop has created a password protected homegroup"....and the "laptop has created a password protected homegroup"

so they each created their own? Is there a way to find the password for these homegroups?

Trying to go through regular old fashioned print share settings, printer can't be found.

If you were a dinosaur, the only thing you would do is suffer from reptile dysfunction.

Thank you Mods for all that you do!

Start, Control panel, network, choose home group and sharing options, view or print homegroup password.

I read that on another site too...but I don't have a "view or print password" option.

Were there other PCS on at the time? I found one set of directions that says to shut all but the main PC off first.

Other things to try.
Start in safe mode.
turn off anti virus or firewall.
