My Kohler Wellworth toilet flushes well, but fills up slowly and the bowl only reaches a low level. What could be wrong?

On another toilet (same kind), the plastic tube in the tank often detaches, allowing the bowl to fill incompletely. Should I attach it with painter's tape or something like that?

Is it consistent?? Is this the one with the large(about 3" cup) in the tank?? Make sure the water fills the tank to the fill line, and that the hose is in the fill pipe.

During the fill process, are you getting a good stream of water from the refill tube attached to the fill valve? That what fills your bowl. Of course, make sure the refill tube is directing the water down the overflow pipe.

If you're not getting a good stream from the refill tube and have good water flow through the fill valve, replace the fill valve itself.

Bob.

The little rubber tube has a kink in it. Could that be it?

On most toilets, that fill hose should be inserted into the overflow tube to ensure proper filling. In addition, the end of the hose should be cut/placed such that it is above the full water level in the tank. Having the end of the hose submerged in water can result in siphoning of tank water into the toilet bowl.

The Kohler fill tube fits into a large cap on the toilet valve. It has everything to do with how high the bowl fills, except for the actual drain height. If the pipe is kinked or below the filled level the bowl level won't be right. And adjust the fill valve so the water stops below the top of the flush cup.
