Yesterday after heavy rain I started the van and when I tried to drive away it had no power. Engine would surge and the traction control light would flash in unison. I pushed the traction control button and then the engine ran fine. Today everything runs fine. No more rain . Any ideas????? Thanks in advance.

By any chance could the exhaust been full of water?

That happened with my jeep twice.

Wind blew water into exhaust enough to cause too much back pressure.

I could see it blowing out streams after that it ran fine.

It must have dumped two or three gallons onto the dry black top.

It had sat a few days the second time since the hard rain.

Now we park it the other way so the wind does not blow up the pipe.

No . Not water in exhaust. we drove for several miles after rain with no problem. After sitting overnight was when the problem occured. Seems to me something electrical got wet. Took till the next morning to soak in?

Hmmmmm, well, keep your fingers crossed that it
doesn't happen often again.

The traction control can be a little bit of a pain
if it starts goin screwy in the rear end, and being
electronically controlled, some water, etc., can cause
fits....

It happened again yesterday. This time no rain for days so it isn't a wet connection. Must be an electrical problem because when I pushed the traction control button everything started to work fine again. I turened the traction control off a few minutes later and everything was normal again. I miss my '49 Dodge!

"and being electronically controlled,"....

First thing I think of when I see electric problem and cars is the ground. I would assume the ground is within the appropriate plug?

I dunno, just trying to help...notnew...
