Haven't used my cheapy small "no-name" electric power washer for a number of years and I can't remember how to attach the garden hose. It has a male fitting. The power washer also has a male fitting. Help. Any suggestions. I know I'm missing something obvious(in addition to the manual, and getting old (me,that is)).

Could it be you are looking at the wrong fitting to hook the garden hose up to? Maybe you are looking at the fitting to hook the washer hose/wand up to?

Thanks for the reply, but no, the pressure wand will only fit on one fitting. That leaves me only one other fitting and that is a male fitting.

It sounds like you need a double-female connector, or one of the "quicky" adapters HERE.

Are you sure what you're seeing as a male fitting currently on the washer isn't an adapter left in from the last use? EVERY washer I've ever seen has a female connector...

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm absolutely sure the fitting I have to work with is a male fitting. I solved my immediate problem by placing two female hose fittngs in the opposit ends of a short piece of old hose. My Lowe's didn't have a double female hose adapter. I now vaguely seem to recall that my cheapy washer came with just such a length of hose. Why, instead of a female fitting? Who knows. As I said. My washer is a no-name. cheapy bargain from a local big box where my sister-in-law worked. What can I say. Ten years ago the price seemed right. And it still works.

I believe washing machine hoses are female/female hoses and may work.

True, but a $5.00 female-female adapter is cheaper and available at any hardware store.
