I thought I read somewhere that you are to wet the biscuits before gluing them in. I know this would make them swell. My thought is maybe a tighter fit.
Can anyone with experience verify this or am I out of my mind.

Maybe someone will contradict this, BUT, I've never felt good about gluing wet wood. I've used a bunch of biscuits in joinery, always worked very well dry.

The glue itself will cause the biscuits to swell so there is no need to wet them.

That's what I was thinking and went ahead and used them dry and all went well.
Thanks

No wet, no wet, no wet. Wanna have fun trying to fit biscuits in the correct size slots, let them get even damp. That's why they should be in tightly sealed containers. Ront

You may have read to wet them when using polyurethane glue. I don't think there is any advantage to using polyurethane glue in most applications. With regular wood glue do not wet them.

They are available at any of the "big box" stores like Menards, Home Depot, etc. (Not sure what you have in Canada.) Also, any store that specializes in woodworking (like Rockler), most larger hardware stores, and all kinds of places on-line (like Amazon.com).

Do you have the tools required to make the cut for biscuits (a biscuit joiner)?

What are you trying to do? (Folks here can often offer easier method suggestions if you will answer this.)
