We know some people are just organicholics...yes I made that word up..

Wife's friend is on an organic kick...we were buying local produce and fruit and she was going on how it was not organic. (But to me it can be close to organic with a couple letter changes)

Anyway, looking through the local grocery advertisements I spy upon my keen eagle eye this....

Organic Eternal Artesian Water. 10 bottles for 10 dollars, imported from New Zealand.

someone please explain to me what Organic Eternal Artesian Water can be and why we need to import it from New Zealand and do we not have as good of water here?

And yes here is a link

Well, that is a stretch, isn't it. I buy Mountain Spring Water bottled by Arrowhead, "organically" farmed from mountains in CA. Lot cheaper than $1/bottle.

There is no such thing as "organic" water. They have applied a word that is not relevant in order to make the water they want you to buy appear to have some extra health benefits.

Bullfarts!!

Organic: a (1) : of, relating to, or derived from living organisms <organic evolution> (2) : of, relating to, yielding, or involving the use of food produced with the use of feed or fertilizer of plant or animal origin without employment of chemically formulated fertilizers, growth stimulants, antibiotics, or pesticides <organic farming> <organic produce> b (1) : of, relating to, or containing carbon compounds (2) : relating to, being, or dealt with by a branch of chemistry concerned with the carbon compounds of living beings and most other carbon compounds.

I drink water from my kitchen faucet. It costs me about 1 cent per gallon and is extremely clean and tastes very good. If you're in the western world and actually paying a lot for your drinking water, you're being taken.

As for the "organic" movement, it's mostly [censored]. People claim organic farming doesn't use pesticides or herbicides. That's wrong. They just use OLD, so-called "natural" pesticides and herbicides, which are actually more damaging that modern, more synthetic pesticides.

They also eschew genetically modified crops, which are inherently more resistant to pests, drought and poor soil conditions.

It's the same kind of non-logic as proponents of alternative medicine use.

We drink tap water here in Northern Georgia, it's good. In Florida we bought water because the water was horrible.

About fifteen miles north of us in Dahlonega they have the best water in the state (by laboratory tests). The water really tastes great. You know what great water tastes like? NOTHING. It has no taste.

And organic water? What the heck is that? LOL

Yeah some places have funky tasting water. It's safe, but certain minerals (iron in particular) make water taste bad.
I was at a northern lake a few months ago and the water was well water. It tasted terrible.

The river in my city has already passed through several cities, including Calgary. But the tap water is well-treated and is clean and safe.

One would think that our water that comes from the Rockies would be good tasting, but it has to be treated some by the time it gets down to us, so it doesn't taste good at all. My wife can't tell the difference but I sure can! Tap water here goes through a filter in the fridge and that makes it at least tolerable for me, but it tastes somewhat flat to me. So I drink bottled water, particularly in my study.

Some people like drinking RO water but that is usually really flat tasting. The water has to have some minerals in it to taste like real water.

No, iron makes water taste horrible, the place in Florida has iron in the well water. It's awful.

Yup same as the lake I was at. Rust stains were in all the sinks, toilets and bathtubs.
