Well i changed out rotor and went to replace the cap. back screw went it find; the front I kept trying ang trying. What is it stripped? On closer look, I notice the part on the distrib. body was broken off! any one have this happen to them? will i be able to run wire ties underneath and across the top of dist to get this going? i realize I am probably looking at a new dist; kinda want to put it off for a while if possible. thanks for all replies and ideas for fixes!

Get one from a junk yard.

Might be able to make a temporary repair with some large plastic ties.

I tried the plastic ties; they seem to hold pretty good. When I went to put the wires back on cap, the store sold me a cap for a V8! This has been my luck lately with working on my car. i long for the old days when access to parts and R&R were simple. Back to auto parts store!

"the part on the distrib. body was broken off!".....

Did you find the broken piece?
If yes, maybe some JBWeld will glue it back on for a temp fix.

I'd try a junk yard for a new dizzy, but becareful the dizzy bushings aren't bad. You should not have any up/down play or wobble.

Good luck...notnew....
