We have a set of three underwater lights from Beckett, accent lighting model TR3LT10.

It has a transformer that goes from 120V to 12V 40 watt with 30 second delay light sensor.

All had been working fine, but now they do not work. I can plug them in at night and they will light for a brief moment and then go out or may be on and then off repeatedly and then go out. Even covering the sensor does not seem to work.

Kind of wondering, is there a way to just use these lights with a timer and bypass the transformer or what is the issue?

You can't bypass the transformer. But you might be able to bypass the sensor or the timer if they are separate.

I kind of figured. The transformer and sensor all one unit. Trying to figure what went wrong and one would think covering the sensor would allow it to remain on, but it does not.

If you cover the sensor with black tape BEFORE
you plug it in,
and it still does NOT remain lighted,

....alas, internal wiring fault.

I presume this is to keep the Gnomes feet warm at night?
Hence, you haven't had 'em very long, and Beckett has a
one year warranty !!

You can use a standard 12 volt transformer as long as it is heavy enough for the load.

You can then plug the transformer into a timer.

Well I DID do the black tape over sensor before plugging in..did not solve the issue. And of course guess who cannot find the bleeping receipt...??

and guess who has been listening to "What did you do with the receipt? I told you to keep the receipt...."

You could always try the old....

"It occurs to me, Dear, I gave you the receipt for safekeeping"

But read your PM before the fight starts....

The 24 volt was another issue I was working on got confused, that is why I edit after I read.

Some have used that transformer in a water proof junction box for outside LV lights. smile

LOwes tracks receipts if you use your Lowe's card. Plus 5% off.

They always ask for a phone # for each purchase, they said its for return purposes. Maybe that is so they can look up a purchase if you lost the receipt? Maybe if they did that then you can exchange it even with no receipt, or if its a product with a specific model number that they can determine was purchased from them then you can still exchange it.
