I too thought Bozo was a Chicago original. But in reality, Bozo The Clown was a late 40's early 50's Los Angeles "creation". The show you and I grew up with (in Chicago with Bob Bell...) was a sort of franchise thing sold by the originators in California. They were all over the country...

To youse guys talking about Bozo not being "our Bozo", la-la-la-la-lahhhh I can't heaaaarrrrr youuuuu" wink

My family moved from Chicago to the "middle of nowhere" in MI when I was 10. This Citygirl was sooo homesick. I remember seeing Bozo listed in the TV guide and was so excited to see a familiar taste of "home". The "bigtop" was the local tv studio with the weatherman dressed in a Bozo costume entertaining a dozen kids in bleachers. To this day I remember how horrible that experience was...

If it's any consolation, I too was severely traumatized when I found out Bozo wasn't unique to Chicago. But Liz, sometimes one just needs to face life's harsh realities and get on with life...
