Well, time for another meaty thread! Becky Yeh - OneNewsNow California correspondent - 6/26/2012 3:35:00 AM
A leading pro-family group has put together a fact page about alternate lifestyles as a tool to educate people that they are not "born gay."
Randy Thomasson explains that SaveCalifornia.com's "Not Born This Way" webpage aims to educate individuals on the truth about alternate sexual orientations. The page provides facts about LGBT lifestyles, as well as scientific research disproving the popular claim that people are born homosexual.
"Without any reputable evidence, the entertainment culture, the uneducated media and homosexual activists have seduced today's teenagers, in particular, to believe that people are born homosexual," Thomasson recognizes. "However, science has found no biological basis for homosexuality, bisexuality or transsexuality."
On average, says the pro-family group, the homosexual lifestyle has higher rates of cancer, sexually-transmitted diseases and early deaths than those found among heterosexuals. He also notes that the American Psychological Association has reversed its statement that people are born gay, admitting that there is no "gay gene."
"You, your children, your grandchildren, your friends and others you know deserve to know the truth about the unnatural, unhealthy, destructive and intolerant LGBT agenda, for that's what it is," Thomasson asserts.
Though the homosexual population is very small, he points out that activists are trampling parental rights, business rights and religious rights, just to name a few.

Here you go again......
From your post: "He also notes that the American Psychological Association has reversed its statement that people are born gay, admitting that there is no gay gene."
Their statement was:
The American Psychological Association, considered to be the largest association of psychologists worldwide, wrote the following information on its website APA.org (accessed Jan. 30, 2009): "There are numerous theories about the origins of a person's sexual orientation; most scientists today agree that sexual orientation is most likely the result of a complex interaction of environmental, cognitive and biological factors. In most people, sexual orientation is shaped at an early age. There is also considerable recent evidence to suggest that biology, including genetic or inborn hormonal factors, play a significant role in a person's sexuality. In summary, it is important to recognize that there are probably many reasons for a person's sexual orientation and the reasons may be different for different people."
That's quite a difference. Beyond taking a statement out of context, but taking it and distorting it totally.
My wife had a "picker" who was a gay man. In conversations with him he told her that he knew he was "different" when he was SIX years old. He had a real attraction to one particular boy and realized it was unusual.
It's pretty amazing to me that this disagreement is pretty much bi-partisan along political lines EXCEPT where there is a family member involved, [censored] Cheney comes to mind. There are certainly others and I have known several that would be in your camp but for their real life experiences that taught them otherwise.
Try to remember it was your church that differed with Galileo; the church's position being that the earth was stationary and the center of the universe.
"On 31 October 1992, Pope John Paul II expressed regret for how the Galileo affair was handled."
It takes hundreds of years and overwhelming evidence. There are STILL people in the church that believe Galileo was wrong, I wonder if you are in that camp as well.
I bring up Galileo only to show the inflexibility that exists. Evidence be damned.

The right bait gets that big, juicy fish every time, doesn't it? Aren't you supposed to be a moderator? What's wrong with you? You even admit that this troll is flamebaiting everyone. The entire point of moderating a forum is to ensure trolls get banned or have their threads deleted. Bob F is clearly trolling this forum, and yet his diarrhea is left up, a blemish on this site. Why?

I couldn't of said it better than Kurt did. Bob F does nothing but spread hate and discontent because he's a frustrated gay man and Bob Q condones and promotes it. Fox is watching the hen house and then gets PO'd when called on it. What a gem. You both should be proud

You ought to read that website (SaveCalifornia.com). Interesting!
What you quote from The American Psychological Association does NOT say there is a "gay gene". It only says the tendency can occur from early years, which could be caused by several interacting factors. Quite different! Note that the article you quote is THREE YEARS OLD!
Gallileo again! As I said before, the Catholic Church never said Gallileo was wrong about the solar system; they just told him to stop claiming theological knowledge, for which he was not qualified. Copernicus is the recognized originator of the solar-centered idea - not Gallileo - and neither could prove it with the instruments then available. Remember that The Church was the originator of the university method of teaching that we know today; not hardly anti-science.
Don't "know" that there are hundreds of people in The Church that still believe Gallileo was wrong about the solar system; wonder where you got that "fact".

Every time homosexuality comes up, I can depend upon you to come to its defense, Capt! But for a man trained in science, you do a lot of ranting with little fact to back you up. Disappointing!

Dora, you make that tired old homosexual claim that anyone who objects to the practice is a closet gay. Ridiculous!
