I think your objection to legalized gambling is too far off the grid.

All the casinos here in Michigan contribute mucho bucks to local and state coffers, including surcharges. The folks that use them are making their own choices, much like drugs and alcohol. Why shouldn't they happen?

Detroit is going down because of dysfunctional administrations, not the casinos.

To me, the "Moral Majority" is fighting a losing battle. Americans don't care if the Baptists won't drink, dance or smoke. Americans don't care if Catholics are against birth control or abortions.

We want the freedom of choice that the Bill of Rights and the Constitution provides.

Do I gamble? NO! Would I have an abortion? I really don't know, because I'm a thinking woman that has control over my reproductive rights. Would I do drugs? Possibly pot.

Get over imposing your beliefs on your neighbors. My mom used to say: "If they don't sleep in your bed, or pay your bills, MUCK'EM!"

Just remember that when it comes out of your taxes and it will and it does!

Look at the smokers and drinkers that have pulled a lot out of all states' coffers with health care costs due to illnesses related to those vices.

What good is mucho bucks when the politician's spend them as fast as they collect them? Ohio is reporting a $350 million surplus. The legislature is already salivating at how to spend some (all?) of it.

The governor (John Kasich) is going to fight them over it. More power to him.

Detroit's casino is not helping them a whole lot at the moment. So much for legalized gambling, eh? Let's not lose sight of the whole picture. Former mayor and now criminal Kwame Kilpatrick and others played a large role to sure, but revenues are way down.

The result? They have had to cut 2500 $100,000 jobs out of the city payroll.

Manufacturing makes more dollars and sense than gambling ever will.

There were bikes all over town here Saturday, for some event or other - not sure what. I think it was a bar-hopping event.

We wanted to go to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner and could see that we wouldn't get seating very well, so we drove on. Second choice was a nice Mexican restaurant we hadn't been to in a while, but they were celebrating Cinco de Mayo and were also crowded. So we ended up going to the town diner.

I believe they voted in some expansion to casinos in the state a while back but they have not been doing all that well. Believe one of them even closed down recently. The Lotto is a better deal by far.

The nature of elections being what they are, whether for beer sales, defense of traditional marriage, or POTUS it seems inevitable that roughly 50% of the voters are going to be disappointed.
"Landslide Victory" is just another way of saying "Less People [censored] Off Than Usual".

What are over/under votes?
