No question, Clint. Why I said base prep / water drainage is the key. smile

This kind of problem is often caused by either incorrect base prep under the pour/slab, and/or erosion from water. So best to also check to see if you have water spilling onto this area from above and re-direct that as part of your whole repair. Also make sure water drainage in general is correct.

You can see a eroded line on that slab. Must be an overhang that drips on it.

I believe that's the original (now sunken) slab elevation's witness mark. Or are you talking about the slight stain that runs parallel to the house ON the sunken slab?

Yes, the stain on sunken slab makes me suspect lots of runoff from an overhang.

Why I'd originally posted, "...best to also check to see if you have water spilling onto this area from above and re-direct that as part of your whole repair."

It would be nice if the OP would respond to some of the comments made already...

Thank you guys for all your replies, I apoligize for not replying to each post but the same day I posted this I found out I had to put down my 15 year old family dog. we have no kids so she was our kid and it has been a tough week.

I will check everything you guys mentioned and post back when I can. I will take more pictures so you can see how the house is and if the over hang is the problem.

Sorry for not getting back I wasn't ignoring your replies and I do appreciate them.

I too, am sorry for your loss of a friend. We lost a 16yo cat this week. frown

Quote:
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
