I think my luck is gonna turn for the worse.
Grabed a shovel, it slipped, and did this:

Mirror is atleast 50 yo, beveled edges, otherwise excellent condition. Is it worth taking it in to be "fixed"?

The heart and mirror broken...notnew...

I can go to the shop to get resized where they will must take an equal amount off all around. or since it looks pretty big, a nice 4" frame all around would hide the issue. "fixing" the chip though, not so much. ront

I'd go with the frame as ront suggested. My bother put a decorative wood frame on some bathroom mirrors, no intention to hide anything, they look real nice.

Make the frame over-sized and add strips on the back to hide the mirror edges and make the frame flush to the wall.

I think I'd then glue the frame to the mirror with two spots of mirror adhesive on each of the four pieces of the frame.

last one I made I used 1* 4 oak, routed out back so mirror fit flush, put in with basic cardboard backing and push points. if it is a LARGE mirror (which it looks like) you MUST use TWO (not three or more)rubber setting blocks at the bottom if setting into the frame as I did. and paint the inside of the rabbet BLACK and you;ll not see it reflected in the glass. ront
