If you haven't, clearing your browser's cookies can be the cure in some instances. Tools/Internet Options/Clear Temporary Internet Files is the usual way.

I've had to do this on numerous occasions on multible forums, it's a common failure mode.

If he clears all cookies, will he need to re-apply the "fix" that was required a few months ago to prevent redirection? I kind of lost track as to whether the original error was corrected or if the "fix" is still required. Sorry to be so vague but it's about all I can remember about the problem.

Not that I recall any fix required a few months ago, but it shouldn't. Cookies simply are text files that are stored on your computer and contain info about your identity on websites you visit. This site uses them to track a user from page to page.

Not to sure about the "fix"
But I can remember this thread being
one of the recent " log on " problems Dave has had.

Hmmmmm? I checked my Favorites and found a link to Opt-Out Cookie ValueClick Media that a lot of us applied based on The Brit's recommendation. I wish I could remember more about the problem but, for a while at least, you'd have to reapply the Opt-Out fix if you deleted all cookies. Anyway, maybe it's fixed and this link is no longer needed but if things get weird after clearing all temporary Internet "stuff", I'll be glad to re-post the link.

While I have no idea what the problem might be, there are three people who have experienced it (that I know of) in the past few days.

With that in mind could it be the forum rather than the three individuals?

Well I have better things to do than worry about this so I'll just wait and see what transpires.

I got in for a short time this morning but the problem is back. It accepts my username and password and when I get to the forum list it shows me logged in but when I go to a forum I'm logged out.

Maybe later today I'll try re-registering with a new name.

Every time I try with the Handyman issued password it shows me logged in but when I go to the forum I'm not logged in. Any suggestions?

Several months ago when the forum was upgraded to a new version I had that exact same problem the first few times I logged on. I was able to continue those times by doing something (I don't remember exactly what I did, I just clicked the back arrow and re-entered the forum or something). After those first few times I have not had that problem. I don't know if it is related to your particular browser, did you try logging on from another computer if you have access to one?
