Who cares? I care very much! When we allow our language to be eroded by the lazy and ig... misinformed, we are throwing away our ability to communicate, to share knowledge, to understand one another. Language is one of, if not the most important asset we as human beings have. It's what separates us from the four legged creatures. To me, it's sacred. I know my command of the language isn't perfect but at least I respect it. I'm astounded and disgusted that anyone on this forum would say, "Who cares?". So do we assume that you would take issue with the new texting type of talk, such as UR, "U" such as Do U, 2, LOL, LMAO, ROFLAMO, using B alone instead of "be" and so on an (and) so forth? I guess if I had a pet peeve it might B ('er (or) I mean be) the proper us of "I" and "me". Me thinks that would b a valid point 2 make. What Do U think?  Then, of course, there is that unique form of expression native to this website referred to in the past as "Ernese".

I'm a heavy texter....and I'll admit, I have never gotten into the "text speech". My words are always spelled out...you...your...be...etc. LOL i will use...but that's it.

I use closed captioning quite a bit because of my tennitis. If I don't,I have to turn the volume up and it annoys my wife,understandably. Anyway,here's the scenario,,, A cop looking at a body or something else at a crime scene. Another walks up behind him/her,and says, OK,what do we got? That seems to be what cops are supposed to say,because you see/hear that on all of them.
