Pot metal broke thru. Both the hinges you showed used the metal for that portion. Assuming both are of similar quality, they would have a similar life expectancy in that application.

If it were me...

I'd buy THREE replacements now.

Install two, and put the third somewhere safe for the next time it broke.

Then sometime in the future, when that right side breaks again, I'd repeat this whole process 'cuz I didn't remember that I'd bought a spare.

(I'd figure THAT out when I went to put the second extra hinge away in a safe place, one that I wouldn't forget about...) crazy

That was actually the plan before I realized it was the good one that was lost...to buy 2, 1 as a spare. I too would lose the spare...as evidenced in this thread already. blush
