So for a while the 2 and the 8 wouldn't work, recently the thing will start beeping, then go to one long steady beep where you need to unplug it. When you plug it back in, it could be OK for a day or 3, sometimes it starts beeping right away...

I found this fix:

http://www.ehow.com/how_4704737_fix-ge-spacemaker-microwave.html

Could this be the case? Sometimes even the 2 and 8 start working again...

It's a GE - Model #: JUM174ODM1WW

I gotta fix this, or get this fixed or buy a new one. My wife always uses it for the kids and is flipping out over have to unplug and plug it back in, getting the chair, climbing up, etc...

Any thoughts? Thanks...

Jesse

Hi,

More often than not a bad key panal.

That -sounds- more like a control/board issue

Kinda -sounds- like poppycock to me....but if it works....give it a try.

Man... Is it worth replacing that for that price? I mean I think the microwave was only $300...

Oh, I failed to mention that it does say on the display "keyboard short" or "keyboard shorted" while it's doing all this beeping nosense...

Thanks Jeff...

Then more likely the key panal/touch pad is the trouble maker....but even that is 50% of the cost of a new unit....probably happy shopping time instead.
