Hotpoint model number HDA100X-72WH. It has done a worse and worse job of getting dishes clean lately. Tonight I noticed the basin had standing water in it. I took the sump entrance screen off and removed some "goop", but the water still won't drain.

In addition...

Are you sure the exhaust hose is open, and able to drain easily? No blockage at the drain or disposal connection?

How would I check the exhaust hose?

Drain and disposal operate just fine.

Jeff-

Would the solenoid slowly go out? The dishwasher had been draining (but dishes were coming out dirtier), until I noticed the standing water yesterday. I don't have experience repairing dishwashers, but this acted like a clog. Could it be the solenoid?

Not normally....most work ok, fail and then we get no draining.
