Every boot when I come here, I have to log in again. I log in and check the box to keep me logged in. Is Vista failing to remember my login info?
Thanks

I'm not on my Vista machine, so I don't know the path. You should find a setting somewhere that saves cookies, or not.

Wouldn't that be a Browser setting? Or is Vista different that way?

Yes, it should be under tools>options>privacy...
It may also have to do with security settings...

I find things very hard to find with Vista, lots of things look different, control panel, etc. and it is not clear once you get there where to find what you want, like with XP.
Will Windows 7 be even more complicated to use? (well complicated for a new user). I got a several 100 page manual on Vista. Do they expect people to have to read that to locate a few normal settings?

Win7 isn't more complicated than Vista. It's about the same... I know what you mean about all the changes in the same functions. I have about avoided Vista, moving right into Win7 has been quite a bit easier than I thought. But then, I live with a geek that can answer all my questions. I do remember TheBrit doing a fair amount of cursing in his early Vista exposure.

The integrated search in Vista is your friend.
Instead of looking around for control panel (though it is right in the start menu), just type "control panel" in the search box in the start menu.
Need to change screen resolution? Type "resolution" in the search box.
The search box also exists in each window. So while you are in control panel, don't go digging through all the options. Just search for what you need from search box at the top-right of the window.
Having said that, 7 is easier to use than Vista, though XP/Vista/7 are all about the same in usability. Don't think that because you were familiar with the old way that it was inherently easier. In most cases it wasn't.
As for the logging in problem, you need to restore the default setting for your browser cookies. This has nothing to do with Vista. We need to know which browser you are using. IE or Firefox or something else?

Well, I'm inherting the Vista machine and with mine unable to connect to the local area network on Sunday, I borrowed the Vista machine. I know the processor and hard drive are larger, but I found it to be extremely fast compared to my XP machine which is about a year older. I've had 2-3 malware attacks and fixes and the Vista machine should be very clean since it was almost never used. I'll get used to Vista and finding things.

Griz, assuming you're using IE8, it's >privacy>sites> Type in the full URL of the site... >click allow. Also check the slider setting for the internet zone... I keep mine on medium and have no trouble with cookies allowing me to access without submitting my user name and password.
Also, under general, uncheck "delete browsing history on exit". You can set the amount of days you may want to keep that history and delete it all everyday if you like. Just remember, if you delete you will have to sign-on with your password the next visit.
