I have a spot of some type of very sticky adhesive/sap on my car and would like to clean it off. What is a good cleaner product to remove this type of thing without damaging the finish?? I've been told GOO Gone does a nice job but I'm a little hesitant to use it. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have used a little Varsol (paint thinner) on road tar on my GM. It worked fine and did no damage.
A little background: I am absolutely ANAL about my car's finish, and my wife says I spend more time and money on waxing than on her, so I wouldn't tell you to use Varsol if it damaged my car. Just wash off IMMEDIATELY with car soap. However, use at your own risk, your clearcoat may be from a different manufacturer.

Goo Gone works for me. Try it under the rocker panel first (outta sight) to be sure it doesn't damage the finish. Never has on me.

Hand hot water a little dish washing liquid, use paper towel or soft cloth. Dab! don't rub hard sap till it softens.

Wax and grease remover. Very mild solvent will remove anything and will not hurt the finish.
