... is over!

You may recall some time back that I told of Ford's public decision to donate hundreds of thousands of $ to homosexual organizations and to advertise in their publications. American Family Association asked Ford to reconsider and stay neutral in the matter. Ford's response was a strong negative and they increased their support of homosexual organizations.

AFA called for a boycott of Ford products and almost 800,000 of their members signed the boycott petition. Ford sales have dropped about 8% per month since then. Hard to quantify the results of the boycott, but it would be foolish to discount it. In that time Ford has lost its position of #2 in sales to Toyota so that they are now #3 behind GMC and Toyota. Ford has had to lay off thousands of workers and close a couple plants. They are also in the process of selling off two major divisions, Jaguar and one other.

Just recently Ford agree to cut back or stop its support of these homosexual organizations. AFA said it was pleased with Ford's agreement to remain neutral in the matter and has called off its boycott.

So was it a genuine move on Ford's part to rexamine their policy or their hemorrhaging bottom line?

Ford choked because, by that rationale the AFA was apparently boycotting all vehicle manufacturers!

"Toyota took a beating in March(08), reporting truck and SUV sales down 14% and car sales down 7%. "

GM
Trucks & SUV's : down 22%
Cars : down 14%

Ford
Trucks & SUV's : down 16%
Cars : down 10%

Chrysler
Trucks & SUV's : down 22%
Cars : down 13%

Honda
Trucks & SUV's : down 24%
Cars : down 3%

Nissan
Trucks & SUV's : down 20%
Cars : up 10%

Ford's CEO should be fired for not doubling his support of homosexual organisations. Ford actually outperformed other manufacturers on trucks and SUV for tough guys and did not so badly on cars.

So far as I can tell, it was a reexamination of their policy as a result of their bad financial results. After all, the homosexual market is a VERY small percentage.

Bob, it's ok, you can come out of the closet, the world will love you no less. Well, right wingers might hate you, but the rest of us will be ok with you.

You are obviously neutral. The next time you read your bible, use both eyes.

God made homosexuality in the animal world equal to us humans. They are NOT perverts, pedophiles nor un-Godly. They are humans, like us with all our needs. Love, acceptance, spirituality and are as productive as any "straight.

The bible teaches: Live and let live.

Why not be a "pervertphobe"? They exist in every neighborhood and outnumber gays. Or a "greedaphobe", "dopeaphobe", "obesaphobe" or even a "nicotine natzi". Just admit you're a bigot. (A prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from his own)

Jeesch, I'm in trouble now... Frannnn!!!

All your gusto is great and dead on, I'm just guessing/hoping your words of wisdom are directed towards the real bigot, Bob Fleming, and not our beloved Wouldheart or Daniel. They're in as much awe of Mr. Bigot/Hypocrit as you are.

And Hey Bob, I wouldn't put off getting some counseling to help you through those inner conflicts you're having with gender identity, seems it's just getting worse from year to year and who knows, you may end up in the newspapers like Pastor Ted, and wouldn't that be a shame.
