I have a Moen 4570 bathroom faucet that's dripping and I need to replace the cartridges. I feel dumb having to ask this question but how do I get the cartridge out? There is no set screw hole on any of the pieces on top. Do I take just it all apart from below? At the bottom of this link is a picture of it.
Thanks in advance to all who make this a great forum!

There is a clip that hold the cartridge in the faucet. If you have already purchased the new cartridge, there should be an installation instruction sheet with it. The instructions will show you how to both remove the existing cartridge and install the new one.

Vid,
Thanks for the reply. The problem is that I can't get enough pieces off to access the clip. All I can do is unscrew the lever handles but that still leaves several other decorative pieces to remove before I can get to the clip and cartridge.

But maybe you're right, maybe this is one of those times when I should go to the plumbing store and get the pieces first, instead of taking in the old pieces and trying to match them...

I'll keep you posted.

Jim, I messed up. I didn't scroll down the page far enough on your link. I thought you were talking about a Moen single handle faucet.

On the faucet you actually have, I don't believe there is a clip holding in the cartridge. The rest of my previous answer should apply though.

for the moen 2 handled faucets once you remove the handles theres should just be one threaded ring holding them in unscrew that and you should be able to pull them out

there should be 1 allen screw you unscrew and the whole handle assembly comes off

Jim,
I included a web address that should show an adobe file with the owners manual for this faucet.

I looked at one of these today the handles are removed by unthreading the the base of handles (handle hub) hopefully their only hand tight you may need to use a strap wrench if you cant undo them by hand to protect the finish

Thanks everyone for your replies. PAP, I had a hunch it was something like that but wasn't sure and didn't want to try it for fear of making a minor leak into something way worse. I'll play with it some more this weekend and will keep everyone posted.

Well, PAP, you nailed it. The handle hub has to be unscrewed. Mine came loose easily with a simple twist. What threw me for a loop was that the elbow, the part above, screws in from BELOW. I thought it would have to come off first via a set screw. So I'm off to the local plumbing supply store to get the part and stop the leak.

Again, thanks to everyone for making this an incredibly useful forum!
