MorrisDancer:

Whenever I've phoned Moen about a part, they never asked me for any proof of purchase. I just told them what part I needed, and they sent it to me.

I think what you should do is phone around to the plumbing wholesalers in your area and find out who the local Moen distributor is. Show the distributor a picture of your faucet or just flip through their catalogue until you find your faucet, and they should be able to provide you with a photocopy the original documentation that came with the faucet. (Or, maybe they can tell you where you can download it online.) Then, you can describe to them where it's leaking from, and they'll tell you what O-ring (or other part) you need to replace. Then, just order the part.

What I meant by home depot puts their name on it, is I highly doubt home depot is in the business of making faucets so theyll get a company to make faucets for them and home depot puts their name on it like they make it,so chances are if delta/peerless makes the product for home depot they use delta/peerless parts inside ,theyll mark and label it as pegusus product.I could be way off, I havent had the pleasure of attempting to repair one yet since theyre a new line and havent had much time to wear out their cartridges or washers or what ever they use.I also apologize to kohler if i havent had good experiences with their faucets.

Nestor, thank you as I'm a bit worried about not finding a serial number on that faucet (it's old and that "middle aged eyes thing" might rear it's ugly head, even with a flashlight!) AND I *think* I might already know who a local distributor is as a local plumber replaced the "spout" years ago and it was under warranty (but of course, his LABOR wasn't free...I'm a little smarter now so hopefully I won't have to pay for labor! Discovered Son has plumbing talent and he actually enjoys plumbing, *happydance*!)

Bweaklan, for your research, I'm already betting a Moen is the way to go from the comments!!

Ahhh. Now we're on the same page. To the best of my knowledge though (and I could be wrong) HD doesn't have a faucet *made for them*. They DO own a couple of faucet companies, Pegasus being one of them, but Delta and the other *brand names* don't make special one just for the Depot. It's been awhile since I worked there though, and things *may* have changed, but with this I sort of doubt it.

Hey, everybody has a right to their opinion , and though those opinions may vary, they are generally formed on real life experiences. If you've had bad ones, so be it. Nobody can argue that fact. I've had problems with Delta monitor shower valves, but others haven't. It doesn't change MY experience though.

Love it !
doesn't change ``the need`` the want`` for some to argue.
Al you said a mouthful there ....
I have had good and bad experiences with
Moen and Delta jobbers..
but have had terrible ones with
finish and longevity on other
jobbers such as Price Pfister and Glacier Bay...
I stumbled across a Delta model
wall hung kitchen faucet
jobber and installed three of them 8 years ago.
One in my own home.. and the finish and preformance
of the ceramic disc Delta jobber has been
EXCELLENT....for ME. ...thus far
About the time to find something you are happy with..
They give you something else.``..

Another reason I love this place is one can find
what others have found that works...for them
And go from there``...
It reduces some of the ``variables`` for ME.

I love this line !!!

Hiya Ernie. My turn to quote you.

Now isn't THAT the truth!! Just when you find something that works really well, they go off and change it for something *better* that DOESN'T work so very well. That's life.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY.

I have a Moen 7100 kitchen faucet that had started to leak from a bad seam on the spout. I had already started looking for a replacement when I read about the lifetime warranty on this thread. Anyway, I called the phone number listed earlier and I just got off the phone. Moen is going to send me replacement parts which they say should arrive by Aug 6 (two weeks). You guys just saved me at least a hundred bux or so.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY

You can listen to this song and sing along.

Wait till you see all the coupons they also send you. Having said that, I sure hope they haven't discontinued that practice. When I recieved the replacement parts for my faucet, there were all sorts of *extras* in the envelope.
For anyone who may not have caught the gist of this thread, remember, ALL major brands have a lifetime warranty, and you don't usually have to even prove ownership. Just describe the problem over the phone, and you can usually get whatever parts you need for FREE!!
