I am looking to replace my kitchen faucet and there are a lot of brands/features to choose from. I am not so much interested in the different features, but the best brand name to buy, I am looking on spending about $200.00. I would appreicate your recommendation on which brand is the best. It seems I have heard both good and bad on all of them, what are your thoughts on the different brands available? Thank You.

My experience is with Moen (five fixtures, two shower/bath, one kitchen, two bath sinks) and Delta (two fixtures)Both have lifetime warranties, a HUGE plus and worth the money which is certainly built into the price. Have replaced two components in two Moen faucets (one kichen, one bath sink), both of which seemed to be wear failures or use failures- hard to tell. In any event, parts and shipping free after a phone call to the company. That experience is over about twelve years or so. No other problems with the other faucets. I did replace one Delta faucet, but only because it was just plain old. I do like the mechanism on the Delta kitchen sink pullout better than a similar Moen. smoother operation and a nicer look. I spent $179. or so for the Delta kitchen pullout model, one of their Signature series which you see alot of in the big box stores.

i like delta. i think they are decent quality for the money. i especially like their warranty. i have received replacement parts from them in the past with no hassle. i even received a new spout from them due to finish problems.

When it comes to repairs Moen is the best imho theyre a good product and they only have 3 cartridges that repair all of there different fixtures. The faucets all have lifetime guarantees and if a cartridge does go bad or get fouled up Moen will send you a replacement.Deltas make a decent product theyre not to difficult to repair also.Id avoid Kohler Ive had nothing but headaches with them they make great sinks, toilets tubs ect but havent been to thrilled with their faucets. If you go to home depot they have a pegusus line of products that seem nice but havent had to repair any of them as of yet,if you get one of those get spare parts if possible or find out if theyre made by delta or another company that home depot puts there name on.

Moens got my vote as well. Anything ever goes wrong with them and just call them up and they'll ship you new parts for free. Hard to beat that kinda service.

Hey, a question about Moen faucets and warranties--does one have to have the paperwork to prove one has a Moen faucet? Have a Moen in the kitchen which "came with the house" and it occasionally leaks *somewhere* between the "spout" and the "base" (I'm thinking it's in the "swivel thing" (can you tell I'm no plumber? ). No paperwork Liz

Hi PAPlumber. I haven't run across any *name brand* faucets that don't carry a lifetime guarantee. I've had free parts sent for just about every brand, including the Price Pfister in my upstairs bathroom. They sent a whole new neck assembly, instructions, and about $50 worth of coupons for stuff I never use. I DO like the Moen idea of having as few replacement parts as possible, but unless I'm WAY off base, not one manufacturer wants to hear even one complaint about their product, which has led ALL of them to lifetime warranties(within reason ).

Pegasus is a Home Depot owned brand, and like many others, they have both good - top of the line products, and not so top of the line. With Pegasus, you can beat the price of most faucets with their less expensive lines, but you ARE getting a cheaper product by doing so. Their equovolently priced products are about equovolent in quality as well. Once you start to approach $85 to $90 faucets though, the price is due more to astetics than to quality.

Ya lost me here. "home depot puts there name on"? They do own a couple of different faucet companies, but they keep those company names and don't have (to the best of my knowledge) a brand with the Home Depot name on it. I MUST be missing your meaning here, but can't figure out where I've become turned around. Al

Moens warranty covers original purchasers according to their website, BUT, just last week I called Moen for a client who's faucet was leaking. Told them the model number and where it was leaking and they're sending me brand new cartridges next week. Never asked me the date of purchase or the name of my client. And while I was waiting on the phone to talk to their customer service a recording came on saying that if you lost your paperwork or don't know the model number of your faucet that the model number is usually located somewhere on the faucet. So, look around for a stamped number, maybe under the spout or around in back somewhere. And if you can't find it, just describe it to them over the phone, they're really helpful.
PS: I'm guessing you need an O-ring kit from them.

That's GREAT to know, Dora and thank you. Will look for a serial number tomorrow when it's daylight and *ask very politely*--charming birds off the trees really does work wonders And, Bweaklan, I'll *try* to remember to let you know how I come out with warranty work with Moen for your research. From the above comments, I'm expecting success. Liz

Ya beat me to the punch. Yep. Paperwork isn't always necessary, and it's an 800 # so it doesn't even hurt to call. Al
