I used to get 8 to 10 MPG in town and about 14 MPG on the highway with Cadillacs and Lincolns in the 50's and 60's. I would expect your Olds to get about 10 - 12 in town and 14 - 16 on the highway.

I seem to remember that my 55 Chev, when it was a used car, got about 12-14. We didn't worry too much about such things when gas was 25-28C/gal. My current 57 Chev w/ a 327 with about 370HP gets about 17 on the highway, don't ask when my foot is stuck to the floor. A 57 Chev is about 400# lighter than an Olds.

i've got less horses, so should expect some where the same mileage. that's nice.

just got word, my mechanic might be or has moved to South Carolina. dang. 17yrs he's worked on my honda. don't know what i'm going to do. who the heck can you trust anymore. hope the guys in the shop he worked out of (strictly volvos) can fix whatever i need. i like these guys.
