Is there something I can spray around my house to keep away spiders, ants etc. I'm looking for something natural, non-toxic...maybe something herbal. I'd appreciate any advice. I'm especially looking for something to use in my sunroom where insects come in through the mesh on the jalousie windows when they're open. Can I spray something around the edges of the windoes and on the mesh to ward them off.
Thanks.

Mint leaves and oils are very helpful for warding off eightlegged critters!!!

Thanks, can I just mix the oil with water and spray or do I need to spray the undiluted oil?

I Know for ants you will need 1 cup of sugar 3 cups of water 1 tbsp. of boric acid powder.Boil the suger and water then add the boric acid mix good then put mix in small jar lids and put them where you see the ants you can also use it near ant hills.

Sounds like a great ant mix..

To spray mint oil, you'll need to premix peppermint
extract w/rubbing alcohol 50:50, and put an oz.
in each pint or so of water. It will dissipate
fairly quickly, but if you spritz
the corners each day.....the leaves will last longer,
a few days. Anything that keeps flies away will
make spiders move out too. Keep leaves and twigs
well clear of the jalousies, and don't let dust
build on the screens.

Ammonia/water,
a few squirts a day, will clean a little
portion of the jalousies each time, and drive spiders off
at the same time.
