Very cool stuff - turning must be so hard to do - have to try it someday. Nice pipes! Blacksmithing - I'd love to try, but can't find fireproof spackle!

Here are a few from me - all older ones from the old house.

Mirrors Cupola Desk Clock Ducky cabinet

Edited - sorry about the big pics

Nice Work, chan!

If you ever want help with a forge, I got lots-o info. Even a good stiff red clay can be used for the forge burner. Or regular concrete with lots of sand and vermiculite mixed in. Just gotta keep it porous so steam can't get trapped....

I used Ducast refractory cement. Used in all manner of high temp furnaces. Shouldn't be hard to find. Contact a local boiler repair specialist, or chimney man. Firebrick mortar is perfect too!

How much of an initial investment is required to get up and running with blacksmithing?

Ernie - it's cherry that I let the sun have at for a few days (before that it was almost all the light sapwood color.) Love how that wood changes.

Chad your woodworking skills are just incredible, Geeze, you could sell that stuff.

Well, below is a fetsh that I carved out of butternut years ago. The beading is of the 7 moons on one side and of the 4 directions on the other side. There is a piece of amethist carved into an arrowhead on the top.

Very cool Dora - looks so smooth (like it was poured that way) - and the grain orientation/contours couldn't look better. Is that a natural finish that has aged or did you stain it?

Well, that was actually 3 peices of butternut that I glued together into one big piece cause I couldn't find a piece big enough for the carving. It's not stained, I just sanded till smooth and then used tung oil on it and buffed it off with a soft cloth.
