I've got a 1994 Plymouth Grand Voyager van. The muffler for the van is located about mid way toward the back of the van. As you proceed toward the rear of the vehicle toward the end of the tail pipe there is another smaller cylinder that the exhaust passes through. Is this cylinder another muffler?

The first can you're reaching (after the catalytic converter) is probably a resonator. The second is likely the muffler. They perform similar duties.
